Happy 52nd/53rd Birthday Eric “Eazy-E” Wright” (September 7th, 1963/64)

Happy 52nd/53rd to Eazy-E. One-fifth of NWA and co-founder of Ruthless Records, Eric Wright was born and raised in Compton, California. After dropping out of the tenth grade and heading into a life of drug dealing which would make him $250,000 allegedly at 22. After Arabian Prince left the original set-up for NWA, MC Ren and DJ Yella would join in place and set in the stone the final form for NWA. After a successful compilation, “N.W.A. and the Posse” with the likes of the Fill Fresh Crew, Microphone Mile, DJ Train and others in 1987, the group would put focus on their powerful, socially conscious studio debut album, “Straight Outta Compton” (1988). The LP would blast them yo stardom but also break up the original crew, Cube would leave in 1989 and they would follow in a beef. Eazy-E would become a solo artist in 1988 with the release Eazy-Duz-It in 1988. It was in 1993 when one of Hip-Hop’s most iconic beefs, Dre V E would take place and Eazy-E would release his second best studio project, “It’s On (Dr. Dre) 187um Killa in 1993. Sadly on March 26, 1995 just a month after being admitted into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Eazy-E would pass away from complications with AIDS, age 30. He was buried at Rose Hills Memorial Park in a gold casket wearing a flannel, a Compton hat and jeans. Salute to Eazy-E for his influence in Rap and Hip-Hop, may he Rest In Peace.
